This feature eases the navigation of a paper form for the completer.


Using Tab Order allows the user to tab through fields when filling out a paper form. To allow this, you'll need to set tab orders in the consecutive order you would like the user to fill out each of the fields. We recommend setting up the tab order when each of the fields are created on the paper form.

Navigate to the paper form on which you'd like to set up tab order, and choose Edit Form from the left side of your screen.

Click on the first field you'd like the completer to fill out.

The configuration window for this field will appear on the left side of your screen. Under the General section at the top, you will see a box labeled Tab Order.

This is where you can either type in or use the embedded arrows to select the numerical order you'd like this field to appear in. Since this is the first field you'd like the completer to fill out, we will assign this field the number 5. We strongly recommend setting your tab orders in increments of 5 to allow extra room for form edits down the road. If you add another field to this form later, you can simply assign that field a tab order that fits within the overall order without having to reset every other field's tab order.

(Ex: The original tab order might be 5, 10, 15, 20 and would then change to an order of 5, 6, 10, 15, 20 with a new field added)

Click on the next field that you'd like the completer to fill out and assign it a tab order of 10.

Continue assigning your tab order in increments of 5 until each field has a number assigned in the order you prefer.

If your form has more than one completer, you can set up a different tab order sequence for each form step. For example, if you need the initiator to complete one section of the form and an administrator to complete another section of the form, the tab order that you set up for the initiator's fields could be 5-30 and the tab order that corresponds to the administrator's fields could also be 5-30.

Be sure to save your form after finishing your tab order so that it is ready to be used by completers when your workflow goes live.
