Sometimes a submission needs to be reset to a previous step in the workflow for one reason or another, and there are times when a previously assigned completer is unable to complete a step. All submissions are eligible to be reset and reassigned as needed.

When resetting a submission to a certain step, the step is sent back to its original completer and they are prompted to modify their previously completed step. The completer assigned to the step will be sent an email with a link to revisit this step. Once they have modified or corrected their step in the submission, clicking Submit will re-initiate the rest of the workflow so that all subsequent steps are tied to the newly submitted information.

To reset a submission to a given step:

  • First, click on the workflow that contains the submission that needs to be reset.

  • Click All Submissions on the workflow navigation bar on the left side of your page.

  • You will now see the submission table for this workflow. Click on the particular submission that you would like to reset.

  • Your submission details window should now appear on the right side of your screen.

  • Scroll down to the specific step that you are wanting to reset this submission to, and click on the three dots in the top right corner of the step name.

  • Select Reset to this Step.

  • You will see a pop-up reminding you that once the submission is reset to this step, all subsequent steps will need to be resubmitted.

  • To reset the step, click the purple OK button.

  • This specific step of this submission will now show Not Started within the submission details.

When reassigning a step in a submission, you will need to first reset the submission to the step that needs to be reassigned. After the submission is reset to this step, then the step is able to be reassigned to a different completer. The new completer who is assigned to the step will get an email alerting them that action is required on their part for this step.
